trough the fact that a volcano caused loads of trouble with flights, a lot of riders and also one of our djs were stuck at their departure airports.
still the contest was packed with supergood riders! the original planned game was replaced by a battle contest because it would have taken too long and so the riders battled their way up to the final round that in the end consisted of Matthias Dandois, Sebastian Pospischil and Alex Jumelin.
Alex took the win and was superstoked about the weekend!

enjoy and PEACE! – Michael Sommer
really loved the venue because of its historical punk backround one of my friends in Vienna explained to me. Great riders from all over Europe like Viki Gomez , Alex Jumelin or Matthias dandois showed up. The Contest System itself was a great idea but perhaps a little too compilcated for some riders that are used to a regular format. The Contest was switched to the regular system which wasn’t bad either. We all had a good time seeing friends, partying and doing what we like the most! Riding! – Frank “Lowcash” Lukas

Game Of Skills Story by Sebastian Grubinger!
Michael Sommer made the decission to turn Vienna into the center of international flatland bmx for one weekend in 2010.
But this time it should be none of the usual contest. A new contest format should help to show a new, original and exciting flatland event and also to bring the diversity of the sport closer to the audience – a great idea!
Despite volcanic eruption, many canceled flights and chaos in the sky for some days, more than 25 international riders made it to the capital of Austria. Some even jumped on their cars and drove over 15 hours across Europe to participate and be part of this event!

The following riders, and many more made it to the Carhartt Game of Skills:
Viki Gomez, Alex Jumelin, Matthias Dandois, Hiro Morizaki, Adam Kun, Michael Steingräber, Frank Lukas, Marton Szilagy, Sepy, Sebastian Pospischill, Markus Redelberger.
In addition to the amazing riding level, the Carhartt Crew created a perfect atmosphere for riders and the public!
One had the feeling all enjoyed the time and everybody was part of a big family!
Beside that, nothing was missing: food, drinks, chillarea, sun chairs backstage area, showers, etc. – everything was organised.

After all arrived, had time for practice, chatting and chilling, the qualification and best trick contest started. A good beginning to warm up the riders and the croud for the big final – the battles!
Groups of three riders where picked out of a hat to battle and to find out who got the most skills that day.
Unfortunately it turned out that this format took too much time and after a short discussion, the format was switched to a “normal” battle format.
Despite some initial back and forth the croud could see the individuality of flatland of it’s finest and MC Roman Scheid made the public scream out their souls for each rider!

Right after the party started at the same venue with DJs, drinks and a well used dance floor!
All in all a great contest, great riders, great organisation, great location, great audience – a perfect day!
